Their preventive care for dogs
My veterinary clinic applies preventive medicine recommendations based on guidelines
established by the American Veterinary Association. Based on your dog's age, lifestyle,
heredity, medical history I tailor these guidelines for your dog's good.
How to adjust the age of the dog to human data:

Briefly the veterinary care by age
Puppy (6 weeks to 16 weeks)
• Physical examination
• Intestinal deworming.
Depending on their age monthly, vaccines to protect against common diseases (eg,
Distemper and Parvo) at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks
• Kennel cough vaccine, optional may be required for air travel or exhibition
participation.
• Lyme vaccine if the puppy has access to woodland, hunting, forest hiking, etc.
• Rabies vaccine at 3 months.
• Start prevention on the second visit, usually at 9-12 weeks, for parasites that affect the
heart.
• Start preventive insect repellent treatment against fleas and ticks during the second
visit.
• Microchip, marking (is now mandatory)
•Sterilization;
Adult dog (1-7 years old)
• Annual physical examination
• Suitable vaccines
• Anti-rabies vaccination (mandatory)
• Control of intestinal parasites.
• Detection of heart parasites
• Prevention of fleas and ticks
• Dental examination.
• Consultation on nutrition, weight or even behavioral problems.
• Opening a file for hematological and biochemical examinations
• Urine analysis
Older dog (8 years and older)
• Physical examination every 6 months
• Suitable vaccines for age and lifestyle.
• Anti-rabies vaccination (mandatory)
• Control of intestinal parasites.
• Prevention of fleas and ticks
• Control of hematological, biochemical and thyroid profile
• Urine analysis
• Control, prevention of osteoarthritis.
• Test for glaucoma
• Radiographic examination of the chest and abdomen
•Electrocardiogram.
• If you are being treated with chronic medication, check for side effects.
